Rosie amazes us

This morning Rosie gave birth to her first pup at 3.10 am and the last at 6.37 am. She has had an amazing eleven pups. Three boys and eight girls. No tricolours, three black and white with the rest Blenheim. I will blog later with more photos. The birth was very calm and very quick, and  with a couple pups needing assistance to clear fluid from airways it was not so easy to take many photos during the birth, but I still have a far few. Rosie has taken to being a Mum, like a duck to water. Simple amazing with fingers crossed all rear on well.
We also have been struck by tragedy this week with suddenly losing Smudge on Wednesday and is why lack of blogging as we came into Rosie's birth.  I will blog about the passing of Smudge, when I feel up to it.

Jane, I'm so sorry to hear the sad news about Smudge. Especially so soon after losing Millie. You must be devastated. I hope the amazing news of Rosie's eleven puppies is helping you through. Wow, it sounds like she is a super mum already and you too, with clearing the pups' airways. You are both amazing!

So sorry to hear of Smudge’s passing Jane. I feel privileged to have met her and felt her whiskers on my cheek. What a lovely girl.
This must have been such an emotional week what with Rosie’s pups arriving too. You’ve done amazingly again and so has Rosie bless her. X

Dear Jane and family,
Ray and I are extremely upset to hear about Smudge, it only seems like yesterday when Maddie and Smudge were playing happily as small puppies. You have such happy memories of her and Millie, nobody can take those away. Perhaps Rosie knew you were hurting that’s why she gave you such a beautiful litter of eleven little “babies” to try and cheer you all up. Well done to you and Rosie. Love to you all. X

Wonderful to hear that the Rosie did so well and she and the pups are safe and sound. So sorry about Smudge, especially so soon after Mille, I hope the new additions will help you all somewhat to heal from this terrible loss.

We are so sorry about Smudge's passing. I met Smudge when we were collecting Laika and she gave me such a welcome.
Well done to Rosie and Ernest - 11 pups! Rosie is looking super. We are really looking forward to seeing how the puppies grow and change over the coming weeks.
