I now have put up a group on Facebook What's going on at Poundlane from 2023 for those who got left out from the Facebook group The Poundlane Spaniel which was set up for those with a Poundlane pup/pups to be able to communicate and keep up with each other. Why am I using Facebook now. Simply because it's easier and cheaper. I already pay to use Weebly pro account and am a bit peeved when I download their app on my phone to find out that they want to charge me a monthly fee to be able to edit my blog via my phone.
So you can keep up with us by just clicking HERE and request to join the group. At the end of March we completed and exchanged moving to the new home we bought only a couple miles from where we were before. Swapping the view of Exmoor for a view of Dartmoor. We now have a lovely old character cottage with a quarter acre garden and running alongside the garden is a 1.5 acre field we have a rolling contract on. My husband David, me and the children have worked so hard to make this happen. Very proud of them all!
We have some work to do at the new place and we are looking to 2024 to hopefully start up where we left off with the Poundlane spaniel. The male pup we kept back from Rosie's litter last year Clarence, has grown into a very smart chap with the loveliest soft nature about him. A total lap lover and very quick to learn commands. He did a few days under guns last shooting season and showed he was of a calm stable temperament to enjoy the job. Not scared by much, he follows me when vacuuming and often stands with his front feet on top of the vacuum cleaner. Very curious pup. 
Brimble from Blottie's last litter last year is also pretty special. She is so much like her Mum but in tricolour. Very laid back and such a cuddle monster, she only has to be on your lap for a couple minutes and you will feel so relaxed, you will find it hard not to fall asleep stroking her. She is also very smart and is very quick to learn. So I'm hoping that these two might make the grade after all their health tests to make a lovely pairing in 2024. 
Teagol's daughter Polly, who will be three in August and is only now having her third heat. As she seems to be harking back to her Great Great Grandmother Millie, who used to heat from 11 to 12 months apart. Polly had her first heat at around 11 months old. Her second at around 10 months and now has gone 12 months to her third. For a small dog it is unusual for so long between heats. It has no reflection on fertility, other than I hope it means she will have less build up of lining in her uterus at her age, so I'm not worried to let her have this heat and look to her next heat, which will probably be next year to breed from her for the first time.  She is like a super little spaniel, real quick and clever but also a very loving cuddle up with you dog, as well. I have a partner in mind and a back up partner as well for Polly. Will let you know more about her potential beau in the near future.
Anyway, before I post some photos of the Poundlane pack chilling in their new home. I have a new landline phone number but at the time not much use in putting it up here, as for some reason we have yet to find out why it does not ring for calls coming in. Do I actually want to do this anymore? Watching "The Poundlane spaniel" Facebook page, which is only for those who have a Poundlane pup. Yes, I want to carry on!
This though will be letting go of breeding a healthier type Cavalier King Charles spaniel, it will be just breeding for healthy, happy, good tempered small/medium sized spaniels. I will write more about this in the future.
At the moment we are in the process of selling our home and moving to a new home, so things are a bit up in the air. All going well we hope to move by the Spring and take it from there.  Once settled into our new home. I will get the website up to speed and I will get back to blogging regularly. Thanks to everyone's support and kindness.

My Mum passed away nearly four years ago and it is the cost of sorting out her estate that means we will need to sell our home and downscale, as she partly owns our home we live in and left no will. Sixteen years ago she asked me to help her as she was finacially struggling. David and I had been led to believe there was a will that safe guarded the large financial investment we made that enabled my Mum staying in her home until she died. I have five siblings and no will. This was a breathing space and time to think. In the not too distant future to settle up my Mum's estate (solicitor fees etc), I will need to sell where I live and downscale. So this will involve reducing the number of dogs I have. It pains me to come to this but I think it is wise for me to do this now, rather than it being a hurried thing. So anyone interested in an older spaniel type dog or even a pup, as I still have Bonnie and I am going to also let her litter sister Lucy go now. So I have dogs available from 3 months old to 6 years old. All adult dogs are lead and housetrained, also neutered or will be neutered before leaving me. Bonnie like her siblings is a very affectionate pup, super cuddly and quick to learn. We handle our pups a lot making our pups strongly bonded with humans from a very early age, so they are really comfortable and happy in human company and being handled by humans. She is twelve weeks old on Sunday and is clean through the night and only the occasional accident indoors, more my fault than hers. She would make a fantastic dog for an active family or equally a loving companion for someone who lives on their own. With her breeding she should excel in being trained as an assistance dog, do agility, a days shooting or just enjoy long walks and cuddling up in front of a fire with you.

I dropped her in the vets at 8.30 am but she was not operated on until 2 pm, as they were very busy. So she was still quite groggy from the anaesthetic, when I picked her up. All went well and she is back to her old self this morning.

He's been a lucky pup with already visiting his new home a few times before leaving us totally. Unfortunately, I did not make it back from Bristol in time for him leaving yesterday, but Teddie did have a sleep on my lap yesterday morning and a big cuddle before I left, just in case I was not back in time. I also had already spoke with Suzanne about me potentially not getting back in time and that David would be here to handle things. When I knew I was not going to get back, I rang Suzanne from Bristol with the news and had a chat about settling him in with them. Just got an email from Suzanne to say that he is doing good, settling and sleeping well on his first night with them. Wishing them all the best with cuddly Big Teddie!
